Thank you again to all the parents who have offered to be Field Marshals for their games. It’s really not such an onerous job – just making sure both teams are playing by the rules and that the game goes smoothly for everyone. And besides, the yellow vests look sooooooo nice!!??
Junior Eagles Day
This Saturday (13 June) will be a special day at Shaw Road. The senior club is hosting a Junior Eagles Day. They are wanting as many Mums and Dads and families to be there to enjoy rides, face painting, giveaways and, of course, some good footy. The day kicks off at 1pm with the main game, Norths v Easts, starting at 3.15pm.
Rugby on the big screen
Good news!! The clubhouse televisions have been connected to the projector, so now we can watch the footy on the big screen! As you know, there’s a series of Wallaby matches coming up, so come on down to the Club. Everyone is welcome. Thanks Scott for your work on the cabling!
Swine flu
There has been considerable media coverage in relation to the spread of Swine Flu. It’s actually a respiratory disease of pigs and people don’t usually get it – but human infections do happen. The symptoms are similar to those of seasonal ‘flu and include:
- Fever
- Sore throat
- Headache
- Body aches
- Cough
- Fatigue
- Chills
If anyone in your family is experiencing these symptoms, as a precautionary measure, please do not come to the club. It would be appreciated though if you could advise us if someone is infected as we need then to put other measures into place – advising team mates, cleaning training equipment etc. Your cooperation on this important matter is greatly appreciated.
Holiday coaching clinic
On a more pleasant note…..you may have picked up a brochure about Norths’ Holiday Coaching Clinic, being offered during the school holidays. Targeting players between 6 and 12 years, the clinic will focus on games strategy, skill development as well as FUN. The details are:
- Thursday 2 July 9am to 3pm 10 to 12 years
- Friday 3 July 9am to 3pm 6 to 9 years
- Cost: $55 per child (2 for $100 or 3 for $140), includes coaching, a special edition t-shirt, cap, rugby ball and a healthy lunch.
Booking forms are available at the clubhouse or email president@nbjb.com.au. Boys and girls are welcome, so tell your friends. And mum, the coffee shop will be open!
Remember too that the club has funds to provide you with the opportunity to obtain coaching skills and/or sports/ general first aid skills. This is a great chance for you to extend your knowledge in both these vital areas. And at NO COST to you! More information can be obtained at the clubhouse.
Yours in Rugby
